How we tested Nest Protect

It’s time to expect more from your smoke alarm:

You have to know your smoke and carbon monoxide alarm works. That it quickly senses smoke or CO, no matter the source. That it won’t have too many nuisance alarms. That it does what it should.

So we made sure the Nest Protect smoke and carbon monoxide will keep your family safe. We tested it in labs, in real homes, in different countries and in Underwriters Laboratories (UL) facilities where it passed all the standard tests and a few new ones.
